- NHPTV prides itself on having something for everyone. So Star Wars fans - take note. This presentation of the Making of Star Wars in Concert is just for you. So join the rebellion - make a donation to the station and get a pair of tickets to see this amazing event.
The music by John Williams is an integral part of the Star Wars experience. Depending on the scene, it can evoke the evil grandiosity of the emperor's rise to power or a raucous bar room scene on a far-off dusty planet populated by all form of creatures. The music is like the force - it guides and shapes your experience of this epic film series, uniting the different episodes with shared themes.
Quick now - what is your favorite Star Wars film? The original, which became part 4? Maybe it's the latest - Revenge of the Sith, in which we learn how Annakin Skywalker embraced the Dark Side and became Darth Vader. Whichever is your favorite, you will see it in Star Wars in Concert. It's a show so spectacular, you may
pardon George Lucas for creating Jar-Jar Binks.
Now -let's take another look at the concert details.

With that donation you will also receive an NHPTV membercard. Which I believe will get you 20% off at Watto's junkyard in Mos Espa.
OK, in case you don't recall, Watto is one of many memorable minor characters in Star Wars. He's a short somewhat reptilian junk dealer who hovers above the ground on tiny wings. He plays a crucial role in Episode One: the Phantom Menace as the owner of young Anakin Skywalker, who is his slave.
Watto loses Anakin in a bet, and Skywalker goes on to become a Jedi. then betray the Jedi order
Other characters have become commonplace cultural references. Jabba the Hutt. A huge slug-like crime lord who rules Tattooine.
Two years ago, the U.S. post office held a contest in which you could vote to put your favorite character on a stamp. I went for Baba Fett, the bounty hunter. But Yoda it was who the victory did take. And on a stamp he did appear, for on his side the public was.
Now let's go back to the Making of Star Wars in Concert

NHPTV looks for great music experiences like Star Wars in Concert. You can support this station with your donation and receive a pair of tickets to this great performance.
And when you get get your tickets from us, it lets the programmers know what kind of shows you like.
You've seen enough now to know that you want to see the whole thing - orchestra, chorus, giant screen - for a film that you've probably watched even on a little TV.
Speaking of which - do you remember the first time you saw Star WARs? I do. It was at a drive-in. The screen was big enough but when the opening credits gave way to the imperial star cruiser chasing Princess Leia's small craft, well - those tinny hang on the window speakers were'n't up to the task.
One last thing. Star Wars in Concert also features a traveling exhibit that includes many of the detailed costumes used in the films. It's a chance to see these artifacts closeup, which is how you will feel about the films and music of Star Wars after experiencing this concert.
